Light Remodels and Fixture Work

The plumbing side of a kitchen or bath project, done properly, inspected, and finished so the visible part looks like the rest of the room.

Where remodels go wrong

In a light remodel the plumbing is usually the constraint nobody planned around. Moving a sink a few feet sounds simple until the drain needs the fall to get where it is going. Adding a fixture means confirming the vent can handle it. Swapping to a freestanding tub or a larger shower means confirming the supply can deliver the flow the fixture expects.

None of these are difficult problems. They are just much cheaper to solve on paper than after the floor is open, which is why plumbing is worth involving early rather than after the cabinets are ordered.

Kitchen work is where plumbing meets everything else in the room

Plumbing decisions that are hard to reverse

A few choices in a remodel are effectively permanent once the wall closes. Where the drain and vent run. Whether there is a shutoff at each fixture and whether you can reach it. Whether the supply is sized for what the new fixtures will actually pull. Whether there is any access left to the valve body behind a shower.

Everything else in the room can be changed later at reasonable cost. These cannot, which is why they are worth deciding deliberately rather than defaulting to whatever is quickest during demolition.

What gets replaced while the wall is open

A remodel is the one moment when the pipe behind the wall is accessible and cheap to address. If a house still has galvanized supply lines, original angle stops that no longer seal, or a drain section that has been marginal for years, doing it during the remodel costs a fraction of doing it later through finished surfaces.

The same goes for shutoffs. Good, accessible quarter turn stops at every fixture make every future repair simpler and make it possible to isolate one fixture instead of shutting down the house.

Fixtures and finish

Sink and faucet installation, toilet replacement, tub and shower valves, laundry connections, and the supply and drain work that goes with any of it. Where a remodel involves a water heater relocation or an upgrade to tankless, that is handled by the same crew.

All Brenneco technicians are trained and licensed. If the project is in a commercial space rather than a home, that is normal work as well.

Questions about light remodels

Do you do full bathroom remodels?

Brenneco handles light remodels and the plumbing side of a project. Call and describe the scope and you will get a straight answer on fit.

Can you move a drain?

Often, but it depends on fall, framing and the location of the existing line. That gets confirmed before demolition, not after.

Should I replace old supply lines during a remodel?

If the wall is already open and the lines are original, it is the cheapest opportunity you will get.

Do you install fixtures I bought myself?

Call and describe what you have. What matters is that the fixture is compatible with the supply, drain and valve arrangement it is going into.
